Sign Language & The Art Of Getting Robbed

"Kindness is the language the deaf can hear and the blind can see." -Mark Twain I had my first sign language class this week. What a beautiful and intuitive language! My new friend, Linnea, is a proud First Nations woman, was born deaf and recently moved to Saskatoon. Our friendship stemmed from us crossing paths late at night in a very challenging situation, which, through being open to holding supportive space for a stranger when they needed it, has had a big impact on both of our lives. There is so much I feel grateful and give thanks for in my life of privilege, and now I am adding the ability to hear the world around us and simply speak and be heard near the top of the list!
